School Carnivals

Students have the opportunity to attend different school sporting carnivals throughout the year. There are school carnivals for swimming, cross country and athletics. Students successful at these carnivals are able to represent the school further at Zone Carnivals.

The school Swimming Carnival is held in the first weeks of Term 1 every year at Maitland Pool. The students aged 8 and up have the chance to swim 50m in each stroke and attempt a medley at the end. Once the competitive races are finished and the arena is cleaned up the students are allowed a brief period of free swimming.

The school Cross Country Carnival is usually held during Term 2 at Maitland Park. The students aged 8 and up run a course that covers the distance for their age group.

The school Athletics Carnival is held late Term 2 or early Term 3. The students are able to run age races, relays and tug-o-war. All field events (discus, high jump, long jump and shot put) are completed at school during Thursday sports time.
