Boys Cricket

Tenambit won the toss and sent us in to bat. After a steady start the runs began to flow with Harrison Chapman retiring on 40 with great support from all the other boys. At the end of our 25 overs the boys had amassed an incredible 190 runs. After lunch the boys took to the field and after a few quick wickets from Stuart Digby Morpeth were on the ropes. The Morpeth tail wagged but in the 21st over the boys finally broke through to take the last wicket.I am proud of the gracious way the boys handled their victory and they played in a very sportsmanlike manner. Mr Cornick who some parents may know from his time at Maitland Public was very impressed with the way the boys played.

I was also very quick to contact Mr Lindsay and let him know how the boys went and to rub in that it was obviously my superior coaching that led to the mountain of runs. In all seriousness congratulations to the boys and it is now on to face Tenambit in the next round.
